Why they need to resign

Standard and Poor’s (S&P) downgraded the United States of America’s credit rating from AAA to AA+. While there is some controversy surrounding the calculations that they used to reach this decision, nonetheless our credit rating has been hurt and we need to respond.

As I write this President Obama is at Camp David for R&R and Congress is home on summer vacation and is not scheduled to return to Washington until after Labor Day.

This is not acceptable. We need our President as well as all of our Senators and Congressmen back in Washington now, and back to work immediately.

This is indeed a crisis and we need our elected public servants at their desks working.

At this point this is a non-partisan issue for me. Both sides are at fault and its time for them to do the right thing. We can not wait for “super committees” to find solutions. We need the people we compensate very well and honor with our votes to do their job.

If leaders Obama, Boehner, Reid, Cantor, Pelosi, McConnell and Hoyer are unwilling to to make this happen, they ought resign immediately.
