$4 Gas, No Problem!

Over the last 10 days we have conducted field interviews with drivers at gas stations in five states. Despite the daily rising pump prices, interestingly, there seems to be little fallout from the price spike.

In other words, most of the drivers said that they had not altered their driving habits in a noticeable way, nor were they planning to. Most of the respondents indicated that they would not seriously consider electric or hybrid passenger vehicles at this time, even if tax credits were available.

While none of the drivers interviewed were not happy about the escalating gasoline prices, their bigger concern was possible rationing or shortages even though not credible sources have suggested that this could happen.

Shortly we will be releasing our findings regarding what the pump price would have to be for people to change their driving habits as well as to seriously consider alternate types of vehicles.
