Should we spend more on education?
With all the talk coming from Washington these days about the need to spend more money on education, we wanted to know what the folks throughout the fruited plain think about this, so we asked them!
Question:Should we spend more money on education?
The most common comments we received included-
- The current system of tenure must be examined and changed
- Educators should be paid for performance and not length of service
- Administrative costs should be cut first
- More money should be spent on education and not on sports and other ancillary programs
- Giving more money to public schools is a waste of our tax money
- School needs to take place 12 months a year
- Teachers are underpaid, administrators are overpaid, and the kids are passed grade to grade without merit
- The voucher program should be expanded
- Charter Schools should be expanded
- Stop picking on teachers
We have no opinion on this per se. As the old saying goes, we don’t make the news, we just report it.

So what’s your opinion on education in the United States?
