While I do report on newsworthy events regarding our competitors, it is my practice not to criticize them. That said, I feel compelled to offer my .02 on a report in today’s Wall Street Journal.
“Gauging consumer sentiment toward brands can sometimes be confusing. Even though Journal readers are eager to discuss their ire toward companies like American Express, AmEx ranked number one on J.D. Power’s 2009 Credit Card Satisfaction Study. Chase, also an object of commenter hatred, ranked high (number five), in the same survey.”
In my travels I meet people from a wide range of demographics. Out of the hundreds of people I have spoken to over the last few months, I have yet to find any that are happy with American Express.
Who did J.D. Power talk to? Where did they get the sampling used to conduct this research? What did the questionnaire look like? Who designed the survey?
I believe many American Express cardholders would like to see answers to these, and perhaps other questions.
